Graphite gland packing which comes in various thickness sizes {4mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm etc} is a braided rope-like seal used in industrial pumps and valves to stop fluid leaks around moving shafts. Made from flexible expanded graphite, it handles extreme heat, resists harsh chemicals, and reduces friction to protect equipment.
USAGE :>
✓ High-pressure and high-temperature steam systems
✓ Centrifugal and reciprocating pumps.
✓ Industrial valves handling oils, chemicals, and hydrocarbons.
✓ Heavy machinery where standard fiber or cotton packing burns out
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS/ PROPERTIES
(a) Temperature Range: It can withstand Up to -200°C to +450°C (higher in specific non-oxidizing environments).
(b) pH Range: 0 to 14 (resists most acids and alkalis).
(c) Max Pressure: Up to 40 bar for pumps, and higher for static or rotary valves.
(d) Friction: Very low coefficient of friction; self-lubricating properties prevent shaft dry-out.
